ANDRAS KAVALECZ
CEO & CG Supervisor
Andras is a veteran CG Supervisor and digital artist with more than 30 years in the industry.
​
As the CEO and Founder of Checkpoint VFX based in Burlingame, California, he has overseen work on projects including MARS, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Stranger Things, and the feature film TAKEOVER. He guides the studio’s CG direction and high-end production workflows across gaming, feature films, and episodic.​

KINO SCIALABBA
Creative Director
Kino is a multi-award-winning veteran Art Director & Concept Artist whose creature and environment work has appeared in major films and games, including Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Transformers: Beast Wars, The Walking Dead, Loki, and Foundation.
With a background spanning design, history, and the sciences, he brings an innovative, multidisciplinary approach to visual storytelling in his work across all platforms.

MARK A.J. NAZAL
Executive Producer & VFX Supervisor
Mark is a multi-nominated Emmy® Award-winning visual effects artist and supervisor known for his artistic, supervisory, and producing contributions on major series for Netflix, HBO, Paramount+, and more.

He is the Founder of SurrealArts Group and a Global Executive Producer / Supervisor currently representing Ionart Studios, FABLEfx, and Checkpoint VFX where he oversees business development and international collaborations across film, TV, and interactive media.

“USS Callister” is the opening episode of Black Mirror Season 4, written by Charlie Brooker and William Bridges, and directed by Toby Haynes. The episode premiered on Netflix.
Checkpoint VFX modeled and textured the USS Callister and Valdeck spacecraft, built to support 4K close-up cinematic shots.

The movie utilizes Trioscope's proprietary "See" technology, which blends live-action with CGI from Checkpoint VFX.
